Come Visit Us
"What a beautiful home and in such beautiful country.
The house was built in 1912 for the LaMont family. It has many lovely features, including a large stained glass window, many leaded windows, chestnut woodwork, oak hardwood floors, and a spacious wrap-around porch for your enjoyment and comfort. The three bedrooms are named after the original three children who grew up and lived in the home. Many of the antiques are original to the home and a touch of Sweden is noticeable throughout. Each bedroom has a private bath. One boasts having a double Jacuzzi tub. Greet the day with a hearty hot breakfast of delicious homemade baked goods, home-grown fresh fruits, Swedish pancakes, and Swedish rolls prepared by your hostess, Ingrid LaMont. With breakfast served on fine china in the oak-beamed dining room, your dining experience will be both elegant and memorable. Come visit us!
"I stayed in several places during my visit to the United States and Canada,
and Ingrid’s breakfast was vastly superior."
History In 1815, Josiah LaMont purchased 140 acres of land from the Holland Land Company, in what was then an unbroken forest. The sixth generation of LaMont’s is now operating the farm. From subsistence farming to general farming and then specializing in fruit, the farm has prospered and remained in the family for over 185 years. George and Belle LaMont, Roger’s grandparents, built the homestead in 1912. Roger and Ingrid have completely renovated this lovely home, and invite you to be a guest at their B & B. Roger LaMont continues his Grandmother Belle’s interest in genealogy and local history. He has computerized portions of LaMont-Eldredge Family Records by Belle LaMont. The house contains many books on local history, old plot maps, historical photos and records. For those interested in genealogy we can provide you a good starting point.
